Rook Baird, son of John Baird and Margaret Rookings, was born about 1702 in James City County, Virginia.1 Rook Baird was the son of John Baird and Margaret Rookings. Rook Baird married Elizabeth Heath..1 Rook Baird lived in Otterdam Creek near Cabin Mill in Southwark Parish, Surry County, Virginia.1 On 20 October 1747 Rook Baird filed a petition to build a water grist mill for the use of the inhabitants of Southwark Parish. His brother, John Baird, lived across the creek fro this site. This Mill became known as "Cabin Point Mill," a community in present day Virginia.
Rook moved back to the family home at Chippokes Creek after the death of his father. Rook's son, Benjamin, remained and operated the farm and mill. His land on Otterdam Creek was sold on 3 April 1750 to a Thomas Averis1 He died before 19 March 1785.1
