      Mary Yates was commonly known as Polly.1 She, daughter of John Charles Yates and Agnes (Isbell) Yates, was born about 1807 in Robertson County, Tennessee.1,2 Mary Yates was the daughter of John Charles Yates and Agnes (Isbell) Yates.1 Mary Yates married John Winningham, son of Isham Willingham and Unity __?__, on 3 January 1822 in Boone County, Missouri..3 On the census of 1830 in Ralls County, Missouri, Mary was probably a female of 20 and under 30 years of age residing with John Winnegam.4
On 10 November 1830 Mary Yates patented 80 acres of land in Monroe County, Missouri.
"... the West half of the North West quarter of section Thirty Six in township fifty five of range nine West in the District of lands offered for sale at Palmyra, Missouri, containing Eighty acres ..."5
On the census of 1840 in Livingston County, Missouri, Mary was probably a female of 30 and under 40 years of age residing with John Willingham.6 The census of 1 June 1850 enumerated on 11 October 1850 in De Kalb County, Missouri, listed Mary "Winegim" as a 43-year-old residing with John Winegim.7 She died in Springhill, De Kalb County, Missouri.8
