     Oscar Lipscomb was born 1904 in Amherst County, Virginia.1 He was the son of Walter Lipscomb and Rhoda Lawhorn.1 The census of 1 April 1930 enumerated on 4 April 1930 in Buena Vista (an Independent City), Virginia, listed Oscar Lipscomb, a laborer, born in Virginia, as the 25-year-old half brother of William S. Lawhorne.2
