     Elijah Willingham was born circa 1794 in Grainger County, Tennessee.1 He was the son of Garrett Willingham and Gartha __?__. On the census of 1810 in Henderson County, Kentucky, Elijah was probably a male of 10 and under 16 years of age residing with Jarett Willingham.2 He married Sarah Weldon on 21 May 1812 in Henderson County, Kentucky..3

On 5 December 1844 Elijah Willingham bought 66 acres of land for $15 in Henderson County, Kentucky, from Isaac Willingham
This Relinquishment made this the 5th of December in the year One thousand, eight hundred and forty four, in witness whereof I set my hand and seal that I relinquish my wright in and to a certain tract of, or parcel of land land lying and being in the county of Henderson on the waters of Green River it being the sixth part of a sixty [UND:sixty acres tract belonging to Jarrett Willingham decd for the consideration of fifteen dollars, which I bind myself to pay the amount of fifteen dollars if the land should be lost, without interest, to Elijah Willingham his heirs and assigns, to have and to hold the same from me my heirs or assigns, administrator or executor to the day and date above written, signed

State of Kentucky - Henderson County Act.
     I William D. Allison clerk of the County Court for the County aforesaid do Certify that the deed from Isaac Willingham to Elijah Willingham was on the 17th day of November 1847 proved before me in my office by the oath of John Willingham and again on this 22nd day of November 1847 was also proved before me by the oath H. L. Priest, both subscribing witnesses thereto, and both of whom testified that the said Isaac Willingham in their presence acknowledged this deed to be his act and deed & thereupon the same together with this Certificate was truly recorded in my office. Witness my hand this 22nd day of Nov. 1847

Julia A. "Willingham", 21-year-old female, b:Kentucky.1
Andrew Willingham, 15-year-old male, a farmer, b:Kentucky.1
Thomas "Willingham", 13-year-old male, b:Kentucky.1
Elijah Willingham left a will on 17 June 1851 in Henderson County, Kentucky.
     In the Name of God Amen. I Elijah Willingham of Henderson County, Ky. do declair the following to be my last Will and Testament revoking all others. It is my Will and I do hereby direct my Debts and funeral expenses be first paid -- Secondly, That my wife Sarah Willingham have and possess all my property consisting of Lands, Negroes, household and Kitchen furniture, farming utinsils of every description, Waggon, gears, ?? Horses, Cattle, Hogs, Sheep and every description of property by me possessed. the Crops on hand and Crops growing during her natural life, except the tenements allotted to my Sons Lazarus Willingham and John Willingham which I wish them Continue in possession of and to be allotted to them in the final Division of my property. the residue of my land to be divide equally among my other children reserving the houses and that part of the farm whereon they are erected. my youngest Son Thomas Willingham I direct my executor to pay over the money when received from Turner? and Bridges for Tobacco Sold in my name for others as will be his by the sale bills to the proper person without delay or trouble. And lastly I appoint my friends Abraham Hatchett and Travis W. Davis Executors of this my last will and Testament. and hereby request the court to accept the same without security. Given under my hand an seal this 17th day of June 1851
