     Stephen Marsh was born July 1851 in Scio, Washtenaw County, Michigan.1,2 He was the son of Jonas J. Marsh and Philinda Quick. Stephen Marsh was commonly known as Eben. The census of 1 June 1860 enumerated on 3 August 1860 in the Dexter post office area of Scio Township, Washtenaw County, Michigan, listed Stephen "Marsh" as a 8-year-old residing with Jonas Marsh.3 The census of 1 June 1870 enumerated on 26 July 1870 in the Ann Arbor post office area of Scio Township, Washtenaw County, Michigan, listed Eben "Marsh", a farmer, born in Michigan, as a 18-year-old male residing with Jonas Marsh.4 He was a farmer.1 He married Johanna Cullinane on 30 January 1877 in Dexter, Washtenaw County, Michigan..5
