     Rufus Wells Wilcox, son of David W. Wilcox and Emaline Romelia Wells, was born 14 February 1862 in Blissfield Township, Lenawee County, Michigan.1,2 Rufus Wells Wilcox was the son of David W. Wilcox and Emaline Romelia Wells. The census of 1 June 1870 enumerated on 14 July 1870 in the Blissfield post office area of Blissfield Township, Lenawee County, Michigan, listed Rufus "Wilcox", as a 8-year-old residing with David Wilcox.3 Rufus Wells Wilcox married Emma Philinda Metcalf, daughter of William Metcalf and Emerilla R. Marsh, on 4 September 1888 in Solon Township, Kent County, Michigan..1,4 This was Rufus' second marriage and both parties resided in Tyrone Township, Kent County, Michigan.4
