     Emma Philinda Metcalf, daughter of William Metcalf and Emerilla R. Marsh, was born 7 July 1869 in Ellington Township, Tuscola County, Michigan.1 Emma Philinda Metcalf was the daughter of William Metcalf and Emerilla R. Marsh. Conflicting evidence states that Emma was born on 10 July 1869.2
The census of 1 June 1870 enumerated on 11 July 1870 in the Ellington post office area of Ellington Township, Tuscola County, Michigan, listed Emma "Metcalf", as a 1-year-old residing with William Metcalf.3 She was a school teacher in Tyrone Township, Kent County, Michigan, in 1888.4 She married Rufus Wells Wilcox, son of David W. Wilcox and Emaline Romelia Wells, on 4 September 1888 in Solon Township, Kent County, Michigan..5,4 This was Rufus' second marriage and both parties resided in Tyrone Township, Kent County, Michigan.4 The census of 1 June 1900 enumerated on 14 June 1900 in West Branch Township, Ogemaw County, Michigan, listed Ema "Wilcox", as the wife of Rufus Wilcox.6 The census of 15 April 1910 enumerated on 5 May 1910 in West Branch Township, Ogemaw County, Michigan, listed Emma "Wilcox", who had been married 21 years, with 9 children of whom 7 were still living, as the 40-year-old wife of Rufus W. Wilcox.7 The census of 1 January 1920 enumerated on 31 March 1920 in Churchill Township, Ogemaw County, Michigan, listed Emma P. "Wilcox", as the 50-year-old wife of Rufus W. Wilcox.8 Emma Philinda Wilcox attended the Medcalf family reunion on 8 July 1927 at the farm home of Mr. & Mrs. Stanley Turner in Ellington, Tuscola County, Michigan.9
The census of 1 April 1930 enumerated on 16 April 1930 in Churchill Township, Ogemaw County, Michigan, listed the following:
Emma M. Wilcox, 59-year-old widowed female head of household, married first at the age of 18.10
David W. Wilcox, 29-year-old son, a farmer, married first at the age of 27.10
Mamie E. "Wilcox", 20-year-old daughter-in-law, married first at the age of 17.10



Emma Philinda Wilcox attended the Medcalf family reunion on 4 July 1930 in Webberville, Ingham County, Michigan.11,12 She died on 9 November 1948 in West Branch, Ogemaw County, Michigan.1 She was buried on 11 November 1948 in the Brookside Cemetery, West Branch, Ogemaw County, Michigan.13,14 She was baptized posthumously in the LDS church on 4 January 1990 in Salt Lake City, Salt Lake County, Utah, Temple Code:JRIVE.15 She received her endowment posthumously on 26 January 1990 in Salt Lake City, Salt Lake County, Utah, Temple Code:JRIVE.15 She was posthumusly sealed as a , daughter of William Metcalf and Emerilla R. Marsh, on 15 February 1990 in Salt Lake City, Salt Lake County, Utah, Temple Code:JRIVE.15
