     Israel Rapelye, son of Charles Rapelye and Lavinia Purdy, was born about 1827 in Queens County, New York.1 Israel Rapelye was the son of Charles Rapelye and Lavinia Purdy.1 The census of 1 June 1850 enumerated on 9 October 1850 in Newtown Township, Queens County, New York, listed Israel "Rapelyea", a farmer, as a 23-year-old male residing with John I. Rapelyea.1
