     William Mulholland was born about 1861 in Michigan.1 The census of 1 June 1900 enumerated on 18 June 1900 in Scio Township, Washtenaw County, Michigan, listed Wm. McHolland, a farm hand, as a 39-year-old widowed male servant residing with Mrs. Henry Marsh.2 He married Mary P. Marsh, daughter of G. W. Stropes and Philinda (__?__) Stropes..3 William Mulholland became the adoptive father of Alvin Henry Marsh and George Jay Marsh on 25 March 1907.4,1
