     Laura W. Dykes, daughter of Hiram L. Dykes and Carrie A. (Morse) Dykes, was born August 1899 in Dayton, Berrien County, Michigan.1 Laura W. Dykes was the daughter of Hiram L. Dykes and Carrie A. (Morse) Dykes. Laura W. Dykes married Maurice Jennings Metcalf, son of John Wesley Metcalf and Emily May, on 15 July 1921 in Caro, Tuscola County, Michigan..2 The census of 1 April 1930 enumerated on 21 April 1930 in Caro, Indianfields Township, Tuscola County, Michigan, listed Laura "Metcalf", a public school teacher, born in Michigan, who had been married first at the age of 20, as the 30-year-old wife of Maurice J. Metcalf.3 Laura W. Metcalf died on 1 July 1977 in Almer Township, Tuscola County, Michigan, of cerebral thrombosis.4
