Mallory Colleen Chaffin was born 14 February 1984 in Warren County, Kentucky.1 She was the daughter of Joey Lynn Chaffin and Beverly Kay Reece.1 Mallory Colleen Chaffin married Cory Reese James, son of Roy Keith James and Rhonda (Pruett) James, circa 2006..2 Mallory Colleen James and Cory Reese James lived at 1219 Penns Chapel Rd in Bowling Green, Warren County, Kentucky, in 2009.3 Mallory Colleen Chaffin died on 20 August 2009 at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville, Davidson County, Tennessee.2 She was buried on 24 August 2009 in the Green River Union Cemetery, Richardsville, Warren County, Kentucky.
Mallory Colleen Chaffin James, 25, of Bowling Green died at 8:10 p.m. Aug. 20, 2009, at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville.
The Bowling Green native was born Feb. 14, 1984. She was a parole officer for the Department of Corrections Probation and Parole and attended Hillvue Heights Church. She was saved at Eastwood Baptist Church. She loved the beach and water, and her dog, Otis. She was a new mother and loved her son very much. Her family was very important. She was all the time caring for folks. She was a 2006 graduate of Western Kentucky University with a degree in social work and a 2002 graduate of Warren East High School. She was a daughter of Lynn Chaffin and Beverly Reece Chaffin of Bowling Green, who survive.
Funeral is at 11:30 a.m. Monday at J.C. Kirby & Son Funeral Home, Broadway Avenue chapel, with burial in Green River Union Cemetery. Visitation is from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday and begins at 9 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Other survivors include her husband of three years, whom she loved very much, Cory James; a son, Zakary Tyler; a brother, Justin Chaffin and his wife, Jamie, and a niece, Meredith, of Bowling Green; her father-in-law, Keith James, and stepmother, Carolyn, of Bowling Green; her mother-in-law, Rhonda Utley of Bowling Green; a maternal grandmother, Fannie Reece of Bowling Green; a grandmother-in-law, Betty James and LeRoy, of Bowling Green; a grandfather-in-law, Randle Pruett; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.2,4
