     William Metcalf, son of William Metcalf and Eleanor Thistle Hutchinson, was born 20 July 1826 in New York City, New York County, New York.1 William Metcalf was commonly known as Bill (?). He was the son of William Metcalf and Eleanor Thistle Hutchinson. William Metcalf was also known as William Medcalf. He married Emerilla R. Marsh, daughter of Jonas J. Marsh and Philinda Quick, on 14 March 1847 in Ann Arbor, Washtenaw County, Michigan..2
