Mattie L. Smith

     Mattie L. Smith was born October 1853 in Linden, Livingston County, Michigan.¹ She married Henry J. Marsh, son of Thomas Quick Marsh and Elvira Sabin, on 1 February 1882 in Ann Arbor, Washtenaw County, Michigan..² The census of 1 June 1900 enumerated on 9 June 1900 in Blackman Township, Jackson County, Michigan, listed Mattie L. "Marsh", who had been married 18 years, with 1 child who was not still living, as the 46-year-old wife of Henry J. Marsh.³ The census of 15 April 1910 enumerated on 4 May 1910 in Precinct 25, Sandford City, Orange County, Florida, listed Mattie L. "Marsh", who had been married 28 years with no children, as the 50-year-old wife of Henry J. Marsh.⁴ The census of 1 January 1920 enumerated on 6 February 1920 in Precinct 16 at 121 East 20th Street, Jacksonville, Duval County, Florida, listed Mattie L. "Marsh", as the 55-year-old wife of Henry J. Marsh.⁵ The census of 1 April 1930 enumerated on 14 April 1930 in Ward 13, Precinct 13B at 121 Twentieth Street, Jacksonville, Duval County, Florida, listed Mattie L. "Marsh", who had been married first at the age of 25, as the 73-year-old wife of Henry J. Marsh.⁶ Mattie L.
