Sarah Reese

     Sarah Reese was born circa 1810 near Murray, Tennessee in Hickman County, Kentucky.^1,2,3 Sarah Reese was also known as Sally. She married Thomas T. Willingham, son of Jarrett Willingham Jr. and Nancy Roberts, on 5 March 1829 in Hickman County, Kentucky..⁴ On the census of 1830 in Hickman County, Kentucky, Sarah was probably a female of 20 and under 30 years of age residing with Thomas Willingham.⁵ On the census of 1840 in Henderson County, Kentucky, Sarah was probably a female of 20 and under 30 years of age residing with Tho^s. Willingham.⁶ The census of 1 June 1850 enumerated on 9 August 1850 in Hickman County, Kentucky, listed S. S. Willingham as a 39-year-old residing with Thomas Willingham.⁷ The census of 1 June 1860 enumerated on 27 July 1860 in the Clinton post office area of the Clinton District, Hickman County, Kentucky, listed Sarah "Willingham" as a 45-year-old residing with Thos. J. Willingham.⁸ The census of 1 June 1870 enumerated on 15 August 1870 in the Columbus post office area of District 8, Ballard County, Kentucky, listed Sarah "Willingham", a housekeeper, as a 54-year-old residing with Thom Willingham.⁹ The census of 1 June 1880 enumerated on 10 June 1880 in District 8 (Arlington), Ballard County, Kentucky, listed Sally "Willingham", a housekeeper, as the 66-year-old wife of Thom. Willingham.¹⁰ She died in 1883 probably near Arlington in Carlisle County, Kentucky.¹ She was buried in the Willingham Cemetery #2 near Clinton, Hickman County, Kentucky.¹¹
