MISSING IN ACTION
Son of Harry Marshes Takes Part in Invasion of France
     Harold A. Marsh, a technician fifth grade in a paratroop division of the Army is "missing in action since June 6 in France." his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Marsh, of the south side, were notified yesterday in a telegram from the War Department.
     Harold, who will be 23 years old November 11, is a Great Bend high school graduate. He entered the service in September 1942 and has been overseas since last September. He received the paratroop training at Fort Benning, Ga.
     June 6 was the date the Allies made their invasion into France and it is presumed the youth was taking part in landing behind the lines. His parents are prominent in activities in the Baker Avenue Baptist church and they are hopeful their son will be found.
     In addition to the(?) parents, Harold has two brothers. Earl, who was honorably discharged from the Army in June 1942 after serving in an armored division at(?) Fort Knox, and Ernest who lives in California. There are also two sisters, Mrs. Clarence Peterson and Mrs. Horace McMillin.
4 Harold Archie Marsh served in the military during World War II; as a Sargeant in the Army.2 He married Betty Jean Anderson, daughter of Melvin Anderson and Marvel (__?__) Anderson, on 12 February 1947..5 Harold Archie Marsh died on 19 August 1985 in Great Bend, Barton County, Kansas.1,2,6,3 He was buried in the Great Bend (Woodlawn) Cemetery, Great Bend, Barton County, Kansas, at R-5-35-4.2,3
