     McKager Micajah Lawhorn was born 7 January 1846 in Clinton County, Kentucky.1 He was the son of James Lowhorn and Lavina Pierce. The census of 1 June 1850 enumerated on 22 August 1850 in District 2, Clinton County, Kentucky, listed Micajah "Lawhon", born in Kentucky as a 4-year-old male residing with James Lawhon.2 The census of 1 June 1860 enumerated on 27 June 1860 in the Albany post office area of Clinton County, Kentucky, listed Micajah "Lowhorn" as a 14-year-old residing with James Lowhorn.3 McKager Micajah Lawhorn began military service on 20 August 1863; in Company C, 1st Regiment, Kentucky Cavalry.4
McKager Micajah Lawhorn was described as 5' 8" tall, fair complexion, blue eyes, and with light hair on 20 August 1863.4 He ended military service on 30 September 1865 in Louisville, Jefferson County, Kentucky.4 He married Mary Catherine Thompkins on 3 January 1867 in Clinton County, Kentucky..5
