     Lola Jane Hipp was born 22 January 1879 in Lincoln County, North Carolina.1 She was the daughter of James Henry Hipp and Dovie Jane Gilbert. The census of 1 January 1920 enumerated on 29 January 1920 in Ward 5 at 112 South Chester Street, Gastonia, Gastonia Township, Gaston County, North Carolina, listed Lola Hipp, a private family housekeeper, who was born in North Carolina, as a 41-year-old single female boarder residing with Hall M. Eddleman.2 The census of 1 April 1930 enumerated on 7 April 1930 in Ward 5 at 410 South Chester Street, Gastonia, Gastonia Township, Gaston County, North Carolina, listed Lola Hipp, a private family servant, born in North Carolina, who had been married first at the age of North Carolina, as a 48-year-old single female servant residing with H. M. Eddleman.3 Lola Jane Hipp died on 25 September 1958 at 511 South Marietta Street in Gastonia, Gaston County, North Carolina, of a coronary occlusion never having married. The informant was her sister, Bessie C. (Hipp) Smith aka Mrs. Frank Smith.1 She was buried on 27 September 1958 in the Hollywood Cemetery, Gastonia, Gaston County, North Carolina.1
