Lewis Lafayette and Jewell Willingham
     Lewis Lafayette Willingham was born 22 March 1911 at 808 South Helen St. in Hugo, Choctaw County, Oklahoma.1 He arrived at 3:05 AM and weighed 9 lbs. He was the son of Donald Forest Willingham and Ruth Willett Lawhorn. Lewis Lafayette Willingham lived at 1925 23rd St. in Everett, Snohomish County, Washington, on 13 September 1912 with Don and Ruth and with Lela Forest Willingham.2 The census of 1 April 1930 enumerated on 9 April 1930 in Precinct 37, Everett, Snohomish County, Washington, listed Lewis Willingham, an ambulance driver, as a 19-year-old boarder residing with Walter I. Cameron.3 Benjamin G. Johnson and Lela Forest Willingham were married on 3 June 1933 in Beverly Park, Snohomish County, Washington.4,5 Lewis Lafayette Willingham married Jewell __?__ circa 1936..6 Lewis Lafayette Willingham died on 15 November 1950 at 2021 Mukilteo Blvd. in Everett, Snohomish County, Washington,
     Lewis Willingham, 39, of 2021 Mukilteo Blvd., was burned to death at his home early Wednesday morning. He was born March 22, 1911 in Oklahoma, and has been a resident of Everett for the past 37 years. He is survived by his wife, Jewell, of Seattle; one son, Gary, of South Bend; his father, Don F. Willingham of 7710 Casino Road; one sister, Mrs. Lela Wilcox of West Branch, Michigan; his mother, Mrs. Ruth Williams of Seattle. Funeral announcements will be made later from the chapel of Challacombe & Fickel.

     The fire was started by a defective, unvented space heater in the bedroom. Lewis was nearly blind without his glasses and in trying to locate them, he didn't get out of the house.6
