Stephan Hipp married Ann Walkin? about 1748.1 Stephan Hipp emigrated aboard the ship "Leslie" from Germany with Bernhardt Hepp and Jerg Hepp; he was supposedly a Palatine from Mannheim or Zweibrucken.2,3,4 Stephan Hipp immigrated on 10 October 1749 aboard the ship "Leslie" to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.3 He and Ann Hipp received a land grant in Berkeley District, South Carolina, on 5 January 1761 of 150 acres.5 In 1765 Stephan Hipp bought land on Gar Creek, the East side of the Catawba River in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina.6
