     Lera Jane Whittington was born 2 February 1873 in Davilla, Milam County, Texas.1 She married James Andrew Hipp, son of Nathaniel Mortimer Hipp and Levine Emmaline Hartin, in 1887 in Temple, Bell County, Texas..1 The census of 1 June 1900 enumerated on 29 June 1900 in Precinct 1, Coryell County, Texas, listed Lera J. "Hipp", born in TX, who had been married 12 years, with 5 children of whom 2 were still living, as the 27-year-old wife of James A. Hipp.2 The census of 15 April 1910 enumerated on 21 April 1910 in Precinct 2, Concho County, Texas, listed Lera "Hipp", who had been married 22 years, with 8 children of whom 5 were still living, as the 36-year-old wife of James A. Hipp.3 The census of 1 January 1920 enumerated on 23 March 1920 in Bell County, Texas, listed Janie "Hipp", born in TX, as the 49-year-old wife of Jim A. Hipp.4 The census of 1 April 1930 enumerated on 14 April 1930 in Ward 3, Temple, Bell County, Texas, listed Jennie "Hipp", born in TX, who had been married first at the age of 15, as the 56-year-old wife of James A. Hipp.5 Lera Jane Hipp died on 30 January 1978 in Temple, Bell County, Texas.1
