Mary Covert was born 10 December 1777 in New Jersey.^1,2 She married Peter Rappleye, son of Jeremiah Rappleye and Sarah Williamson, on 28 November 1799..^3,1 On the census of April 1801 in Ovid Township, Cayuga County, New York, Mary was probably a female of 16 and under 26 years of age residing with Peter Rapelyea.⁴ On the census of 1810 in Ovid Township, Seneca County, New York, Mary was probably a female of 26 and under 45 years of age residing with Peter Rappleye.⁵ On the census of 1820 in Covert Township, Seneca County, New York, Mary was probably a female of 26 and under 45 years of age residing with Peter Rappleye.⁶ On the census of 1830 in Covert Township, Seneca County, New York, Mary was probably a female of 50 and under 60 years of age residing with Peter Rappleye.⁷ On the census of 1840 in Covert Township, Seneca County, New York, Mary was probably a female of 60 and under 70 years of age residing with Peter Rappleye.⁸ The census of 1 June 1850 enumerated on 17 August 1850 in Covert Township, Seneca County, New York, listed Mary "Rapplye" as a 72-year-old residing with Peter Rapplye.² The census of 1 June 1860 enumerated on 20 August 1860 in the Farmer post office area of Covert Township, Seneca County, New York, listed Mary "Rappleye" as a 83-year-old residing with J. W. Rappleye.⁹ The census of 1 June 1870 enumerated on 15 August 1870 in the Farmer Village post office area of Covert Township, Seneca County, New York, listed Mary Rappleye, born in NJ, as a 92-year-old female residing with J. W. Rappleye.¹⁰ She died on 20 September 1870 in Seneca County, New York.¹¹ She was buried in the Lake View Cemetery, Interlaken, Seneca County, New York, in lot 631, age 93.^11,12
