Priscilla Caldonia Hancock

     Priscilla Caldonia Hancock was born 12 June 1861 in Paris, Lamar County, Texas.¹ She was the daughter of James F. Hancock and Mary Elizabeth Light Craft. The census of 1 June 1870 enumerated on 11 July 1870 in the Paris post office area of District 3, Lamar County, Texas, listed Calidona Hancock, as a 9-year-old residing with William Craft.² Priscilla Caldonia Hancock married Lewis Cullum Lawhorn, son of James Lowhorn and Lavina Pierce, on 8 January 1879 in Paris, Lamar County, Texas..³ The census of 1 June 1880 enumerated on 9 June 1880 in Precinct 3, Paris, Lamar County, Texas, listed P. C. "Lawhorn", as the 18-year-old wife of L. C. Lawhorn.⁴ The census of 1 June 1900 enumerated on 26 June 1900 in Precinct 7, Lamar County, Texas, listed Dona "Lawhorn", who had been married 21 years, with 6 children of whom 5 were still living, as the 38-year-old wife of Lewis Lawhorn.⁵ The census of 1 January 1920 enumerated on 13 January 1920 in Hugo, Choctaw County, Oklahoma, listed Donie, as the 58-year-old wife of Louis Lawhorn.⁶ Priscilla Caldonia Lawhorn died on 23 March 1942 in Hugo, Choctaw County, Oklahoma, of old age.⁷ She was buried on 26 March 1942 in the Mount Olivet Cemetery, Hugo, Choctaw County, Oklahoma.^8,9
