     John Amos Lee Hipp was born 11 September 1869 in Billstown, Pike County, Arkansas.1,2 He was the son of Samuel Leonidas Hipp and Cordelia J. Sybell French. The census of 1 June 1870 enumerated on 5 August 1870 in the Huddleston post office area of Missouri Township, Pike County, Arkansas, listed John L. "Hipp", as a 7-month-old residing with Samuel L. Hipp.3 John Amos Lee Hipp married Leona Evalee Hardy circa 1895..4 John Amos Lee Hipp died on 18 August 1950 in Longview, Gregg County, Texas.2
