Elizabeth Eleanor Stell

     Elizabeth Eleanor Stell was born 9 November 1836 in Arkansas.¹ Elizabeth Eleanor Stell was commonly known as Betty. She married James Harrison Baird, son of James Ithamar Baird and Susan McAllister, on 16 February 1854 in Dallas County, Arkansas..^2,1,3 The census of 1 June 1860 enumerated in 1860 in the Princeton post office area of Princeton Township, Dallas County, Arkansas, listed Elizabeth "Baird" as a 25-year-old residing with Jas H. Baird.⁴ The census of 1 June 1870 enumerated on 27 July 1870 in the Princeton post office area of Jackson Township, Dallas County, Arkansas, listed Elizabeth E. "Baird", as a 33-year-old residing with James H. Baird.⁵ The census of 1 June 1880 enumerated on 24 June 1880 in Redland Township, Dorsey County, Arkansas, listed B. "Barid", a housekeeper, born in Arkansas, as the 44-year-old wife of J. H. Baird.⁶ Elizabeth Eleanor Baird died before 1900, presumably as James has remarried.⁷ She was buried in the Bethel Cemetery located 5 miles south of Greenville, Hunt County, Texas, but no headstone or other record has been found.^7,8
