Mary Ann Elizabeth Hipp was born 3 November 1841 in Laurens District, South Carolina.1,2 She was the daughter of Samuel Leonidas Hipp Sr. and Meeky East. Mary Ann Elizabeth Hipp was commonly known as Molly. The census of 1 June 1850 enumerated on 30 July 1850 in Laurens District, South Carolina, listed Mary "Hipp" as a 8-year-old residing with Meeky Hipp.2 The census of 1 June 1860 enumerated on 6 August 1860 in the Antoine post office area of Missouri Township, Pike County, Arkansas, listed M. A. Hipps as a 18-year-old residing with Meeky Hipps.3 She married Joseph Alvin Baird, son of James Ithamar Baird and Susan McAllister, on 8 June 1864 in Pike County, Arkansas..4,5 The census of 1 June 1870 enumerated on 5 August 1870 in the Huddleston post office area of Missouri Township, Pike County, Arkansas, listed Mary "Baird", as a 26-year-old residing with Joseph A. Baird.6 The census of 1 June 1880 enumerated on 15 June 1880 in Boughton Township, Nevada County, Arkansas, listed M. E. "Baird", as the 38-year-old wife of J. A. Baird.7 Mary Ann Elizabeth Baird died on 18 August 1894 in Prescott, Nevada County, Arkansas.8
