     Elizabeth Hooker Mills was born 18 April 1794 in North Carolina.1,2 She married Matthew Hancock, son of John Hancock and Jane S. Skeen, on 30 March 1819 in Wilson County, Tennessee..3 On the census of 1820 in Harrison County, Indiana, Elizabeth Hooker was probably a female of 16 and under 26 years of age residing with Matthew Hancock.4 On the census of 1830 in Blue River Township, Harrison County, Indiana, Elizabeth Hooker was probably a female of 30 and under 40 years of age residing with Mathew Hancock.5 On the census of 1840 in Blue River Township, Harrison County, Indiana, Elizabeth Hooker was probably a female of 40 and under 50 years of age residing with Mathew Hancock.6

The census of 1 June 1860 enumerated on 14 June 1860 in the Milltown post office area of Blue River Township, Harrison County, Indiana, listed Elizabeth "Hancock" born in NC, as a 65-year-old female residing with William Hancock.7 The census of 1 June 1870 enumerated on 9 August 1870 in the Rothrocks Mill post office area of Blue River Township, Harrison County, Indiana, listed Elizabeth "Hancock", born in NC, as a 76-year-old female residing with William Hancock.8 She died on 9 November 1873 in Harrison County, Indiana.2 She was buried in the Hancock Chapel United Methodist Cemetery, Harrison County, Indiana.2
