     Matthew Skeen, son of John Skeen, was born about 1701 in South Leith, Midlothian, Scotland.1 Matthew Skeen was the son of John Skeen.1 Matthew Skeen was baptized on 14 August 1701 in South Leith, Midlothian, Scotland.1 He married Jannetje Titus about 1730..2 Matthew Skeen was listed as an Ensign in the Militia in 1742 in Augusta County, Virginia.3,1 He applied for a land grant in the late 1740's in Augusta County, Virginia, but died before it was awarded.3 He died in February 1747/48 in Augusta County, Virginia.2 Matthew Skeen's estate was probated on 5 April 1749 in Augusta County, Virginia. This was Mathew Skeen's appraisement by William Carroll, William James and Robert Colwell.4
