In Memory
Another dear friend, beloved, has entered into life eternal. Minnie West, wife of Bro. Jas. West, fell asleep on Sunday morning, May 7th, to awaken in the Heavenly home.
The news of her death came as a shock to the many friends with whom she has been associated having been ill only a short time.
Minnie May Wilson, daughter of Jas. and Nancy Wilson, was born November 6, 1875 in Audrain County, Missouri, and was married to Jas. West September 8, 1892 and to this union were born four children: Preston, Bessie, Pearl and Milton. Preston and Pearl survive. Besides a husband and children, she also leaves a father and two brothers, and a host of friends to mourn their loss. She was converted at the age of 14 and united with the Missionary Baptist Church of which she remained a faithful worker until death.
She was a devoted wife and mother, a faithful untiring leader in all services of the church, Sunday School, and Women's Christian Temperance Union.
She has gone from us but to the end of time her brave loving spirit will live on in the lives of countless men and women, who because they had known the strong true soul, came to see life's problems more clearly and to meet life's obligations with her own heroism. The tender and loving care that she received during her last illness at the hands of friends and the sorrow her death brought to them speaks columns for the appreciation and esteem in which they held her. She had qualities that shone brighter than silver and gold and was loved by all who knew her. If we could send but one short message to her it would be this: "We would rather bear the sorrows and the heart aches inflicted by the vacant place you left than not to have known you." The funeral services were held at the Fristoe Baptist Church conducted by Bro. Wingo. The body was laid to rest in the Fristoe Cemetery amid many floral offerings sent as a tribute to her memory
