Andrew Jackson Yager, who would have been 86 in January, died at Woodland Hospital Wednesday afternoon, November 9. He was born near Madison the son of Andrew Jackson and Mary Ellen Yager and farmed in Monroe County most of his life. He lived in Paris about 25 years. He was married in 1901 to the former Daisy Boulware of Madison and they were the parents of five children. Several years after her death he married Mrs. Lula Crank and the past five years was married to Mrs. Martha Watson who survives. The five children surviving include Mrs. Dwight (Nancy) Gutherie of Paris, Mrs. Roy (Ruby) Dean, Mrs. Victor (Blanche) Clem, Shelby Yager and Orphy Yager, all of Monroe City; 5 grand children, 4 great grand children; one sister, Mrs. John Donovan of Paris. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at 3:30 at Agnew Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Metcalf officiating assisted by Rev. Robert Matthew. Burial was in Walnut Grove Cemetery.8
