     Margaret Goolsby was born circa 1794 in Virginia.1 She married James Lawhorn Sr., son of William Lawhorn, on 18 March 1819 in Amherst County, Virginia..2 On the census of 1820 in Amherst County, Virginia, Margaret was probably a female of 16 and under 26 years of age residing with James Lawhorn.3 On the census of 1830 in Amherst County, Virginia, Margaret was probably a female of 30 and under 40 years of age residing with James Lawhorne.4 On the census of 1840 in Amherst County, Virginia, Margaret was probably a female of 40 and under 50 years of age residing with James Lawhorne.5 The census of 1 June 1850 enumerated on 23 October 1850 in the Eastern District, Amherst County, Virginia, listed Margaret "Lawhorne" as a 57-year-old residing with James Lawhorne Sen.1 The census of 1 June 1860 enumerated on 30 August 1860 in Amherst County, Virginia, listed Margaret "Lawhorne" as a 62-year-old residing with James Lawhorne.6 The census of 1 June 1870 enumerated on 22 June 1870 in the Lunchburg post office area of Elon Township, Amherst County, Virginia, listed Margaret Lawhorn, as a 77-year-old residing with Edward Floyd.7 The census of 1 June 1880 enumerated on 18 June 1880 in the Elon District, Village of Madison, Amherst County, Virginia, listed Margaret Lawhorne, as the 85-year-old widowed aunt of Edward C. Floyd.8 She died in 1887.9
