The census of 1 June 1860 enumerated on 8 September 1860 in Amherst County, Virginia, listed Peter "Lawhorne" as a 5-year-old residing with Peter Lawhorne.1 The census of 1 June 1880 enumerated on 10 June 1880 in Massies Mills Township, Nelson County, Virginia, listed Peter Lawhorn, a farm worker, as the 25-year-old nephew of Daniel Lawhorn.3 Peter Lawhorn Jr. married his first cousin, Lizzie Lawhorn, daughter of Daniel Lawhorn and Elizabeth L. Campbell, on 18 January 1881 in Massies Mills, Nelson County, Virginia..4
