     Stephen Hipp Jr. was born circa 1749.1 He was the son of Stephan Hipp and Ann Walkin? Stephen Hipp Jr. served in the military during the Revolutionary War in North Carolina; in the Salisbuty District Militia he did not, however, receive a pension: See "Roster of North Carolina Soldiers in the American Revolution", p 3. Served in Salisbuty District Militia No. 6307, received 9 pounds, 10 shillings for his service in January 1784.1 He was named in the will of Stephan Hipp as "son Stephen Hipp" in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, on 25 August 1781.2,3 Stephen Hipp Jr. lived in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, in 1782.4
The census of 1790 in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, listed Stephen Hipp as a head-of-household with tallies 2-1-3 which indicates:
A male of 16 or more years of age, probably Stephen.5
A female, probably his wife.5
A male of 16 or more years of age, probably his son John.5

A female, probably his daughter.5
A female, probably his daughter Elizabeth.5

Stephen Hipp Jr. died in 1826 in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina.1
