     Josiah Rappleye, son of John Remsen Rappleye and Margaret Tillier, was born between 1816 and 1817 in Ovid, Seneca County, New York.1 Josiah Rappleye was the son of John Remsen Rappleye and Margaret Tillier. On the census of 1820 in Wayne, Steuben County, New York, Josiah was probably a male under 10 years of age residing with John R. Rappley.2 On the census of 1830 in Tyrone Township, Steuben County, New York, Josiah was probably a male of 10 and under 15 years of age residing with John R. Rapele?3 He married Clarissa H. Wells about 1839..1,4
