Hettie V. StClair was born 17 May 1894.1,2,3 She was the daughter of James P. StClair and Nancy J. Quarles. Hettie V. StClair married her first cousin once removed, Lafayette Lawson Lawhorn, son of Joseph W. Lawhorn and Delilah C. Waldron, on 21 May 1912 in Bedford County, Virginia..2 The census of 1 January 1920 enumerated on 23 January 1920 in Chamblissburg Township, Bedford County, Virginia, listed Hettie V. "Lawhorn", as the 25-year-old daughter-in-law of Joell W. Lawhorn.4 The census of 1 April 1930 enumerated on 1 May 1930 in Chamblissburg Township, Bedford County, Virginia, listed Hettie "Lawhorn", who had been married first at the age of 18, as the 36-year-old wife of Lafe L. Lawhorn.5 Hettie V. Lawhorn died on 15 February 1972 in Thaxton, Bedford County, Virginia.1,2,3 She was buried in the Jeter's Chapel Cemetery, Bedford County, Virginia.3
