     James Hillyard Lawhorn, son of Holman Lawhorn and Nancy Clements, was born August 1832 in Amherst County, Virginia.1,2 James Hillyard Lawhorn was the son of Holman Lawhorn and Nancy Clements. On the census of 1840 in Amherst County, Virginia, James Hillyard was probably a male of 5 and under 10 years of age residing with Holeman Lawhorne.3 He married Isabella Hartless about 1851..4
