     Lavina Pierce, daughter of William Pierce and Nancy __?__, was born about 1824 in Kentucky.1 On the census of 1830 in Cumberland County, Kentucky, Lavina was probably a female under 5 years of age residing with William Pearce.2 On the census of 1840 in Clinton County, Kentucky, Lavina was probably a female of 10 and under 15 years of age residing with William Pierce.3 She married James Lowhorn, son of Thomas Lowhorn and Mary Ann Sweeney, about 1843..4,5 The census of 1 June 1850 enumerated on 22 August 1850 in District 2, Clinton County, Kentucky, listed Levina "Lawhon", born in Kentucky as the 26-year-old female residing with James Lawhon.1 The census of 1 June 1860 enumerated on 27 June 1860 in the Albany post office area of Clinton County, Kentucky, listed Lavina "Lowhorn" as the 35-year-old residing with James Lowhorn.6
