     Frances Laughon, daughter of Isham Laughon and Nancy Hackworth, was born about 1824 in Bedford County, Virginia.1,2,3 Frances Laughon was the daughter of Isham Laughon and Nancy Hackworth. Frances Laughon was commonly known as Frankie (?). On the census of 1840 in Southern Division, Bedford County, Virginia, Frances was probably a female of 15 and under 20 years of age residing with Lewis Lawhorne.4 The census of 1 June 1870 enumerated on 22 July 1870 in the Liberty post office area of Otter Township, Bedford County, Virginia, listed Frances "Laughon", a housekeeper, born in VA, as a 40-year-old female residing with Joshua Laughon.5 The census of 1 June 1900 enumerated on 22 June 1900 in the Otter District, Bedford County, Virginia, listed Frances "Laughon", as the 74-year-old aunt of John J. Laughon.6 She lived with her niece Maria Lacy in her old age.3 She died on 9 November 1916, of a fractured & dislocated hip never having married.3
