     Mariah Caroline Lowhorn was born 4 May 1839 in Kentucky.1,2 She was the daughter of Joshua D. Lowhorn and Louisa Stockton. On the census of 1840 in Clinton County, Kentucky, Mariah Caroline was probably a female under 5 years of age residing with Joshua Lawhorn.3 The census of 1 June 1850 enumerated on 22 August 1850 in District 2, Clinton County, Kentucky, listed Mariah Lowhorn as a 10-year-old residing with Joshua Luohan.4 The census of 1 June 1860 enumerated on 28 June 1860 in the Albany post office area of Clinton County, Kentucky, listed Mariah C. "Sowhorn", a weaver, as a 21-year-old residing with Joshua Sowhorn.5 She married Benjamin Franklin Cumming on 21 November 1860 in Clinton County, Kentucky..6 Her husband, Benjamin Franklin Cumming, died on 6 October 1862.7 Mariah Caroline Cumming married her first cousin, Asa C. Lowhorn, son of James Lowhorn and Lavina Pierce, on 21 June 1865 in Albany, Clinton County, Kentucky..6 The census of 1 June 1870 enumerated on 28 July 1870 in the Albany post office area of District 4, Clinton County, Kentucky, listed Mariah C. "Lowhorn", as a 29-year-old residing with Asa Lowhorn.8 The census of 1 June 1880 enumerated on 10 June 1880 in Glenville Precinct 9, Adair County, Kentucky, listed Mariah C. "Lawhorn", as the 40-year-old wife of Asa Lawhorn.9 Mariah Caroline Lowhorn and Asa C. Lowhorn were divorced probably in Adair County, Kentucky. The census of 1 June 1900 enumerated on 15 June 1900 in the Glenville Precinct, Adair County, Kentucky, listed Calline "Lawhorn", with 2 children both of whom were still living, as the 61-year-old widowed mother of Henry Lawhorn.10 The census of 15 April 1910 enumerated on 25 April 1910 in Glens Fork Precinct 8, Adair County, Kentucky, listed Mary C. "Lawhorn", as the 79-year-old mother of Henry Lawhorn.12 The census of 1 April 1930 enumerated on 9 April 1930 in District 3, Adair County, Kentucky, listed Mariah C. "Lawhorn", as the 90-year-old widowed mother of Henry B. Lawhorn.13 Mariah Caroline Lowhorn died on 7 May 1930 in Adair County, Kentucky.2 She was buried in the Union Church Burial Ground near Glens Fork, Adair County, Kentucky.2,14
